Josiah is a Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate in the process of becoming fully licensed. He graduated from Oklahoma Christian University with his Bachelor’s in Bible and Ministry and his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. He has professional experience working bilingually in both English and Spanish interning at Catholic Charities and Ministries of Jesus before beginning work at La Vida Fearless Counseling. Josiah works with individuals, couples, and families to navigate depression, anxiety, trauma, sexuality, and relationship issues. 

OUTSIDE OF WORK

Josiah spends his free time playing basketball, baking sourdough, volunteering at his church, and spending a painful amount of time training his high-anxiety dog with his wife.

A FEW WORDS FROM JOSIAH

Hi, I’m Josiah! I take a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy, encouraging clients to take an active role in the therapeutic process. As a marriage and family therapist, I approach problems systemically, recognizing that the individual in the room with me is part of a larger system that contributes to the challenges they face. It is my goal to help clients take a cohesive look at their life to realize their desired change.  I aim to create a safe space to be vulnerable and promote accepting who you are. I believe that building a fulfilled life comes through genuine acceptance and gradual change.

I have worked with any combination of individuals, couples, and families to overcome challenges presented by anxiety, depression, trauma, sexuality, and relationship issues. Having been trained in EMDR, I am a trauma-informed therapist. I am also an approved PrepareEnrich facilitator, and enjoy working with premarital couples.
